The A2USA CUSTOM-Small Quadrotor

CUSTOM-Small Rendition
We created the A2USA CUSTOM-Small Quadrotor as an Open Source Hardware project that will be released into the wild very soon. It is basically a re-packaged AR.Drone 2.0. The first image to the left is the final rendition. The second image is of the first CS-S that we have built - tail number CS-S-01.

The original design intent was so that one of our customers could get some basic indoor UAV flying experience using our Open Source Software Drag-N-Fly tm

Working through my Birthday
CS-S-01 Quadrotor 1st flight
I have spent approximately 400 hours working on this project. Which included celebrating my Birthday by working through the night so that I could keep a promise to myself that I would get it flying "fully dressed" by my birthday.

The majority of the airframe was made by 3D Printing either by FDM or SLS. We did the FDM in-house using a Solidoodle Printer. The SLS was done by our friends at 3D Systems. There are also some G10 & Carbon Fiber parts that were milled via our small Taig CNC.
